The Minoa Fire Department is a 100% Volunteer Organization that provides Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical and Rescue Services to 3,449 residents in the Village of Minoa and a portion of the Town of Manlius; totaling 11,000 residents in a 32,000 square mile district. Critical infrastructure responsibilities for the Minoa Fire Department include the CSX / Amtrak Railroad Main Line, which has an annual car count of approximately two million railcars, including 87,566 railcars containing Hazardous Materials. The Department is also responsible for the protection of two nursing homes, five schools, and a natural gas and hazardous materials pipeline.
The Minoa Fire Department Operates four Engines a light Rescue / Brush Unit and a Squad first response vehicle out of two stations.
Station One (Head Quarters,) located at 240 N Main Street, Minoa, NY 13116 houses Engines 11, 13, Squad 1 and the Special Operations Trailer that houses a Rapid Deployment Craft (Rescue Boat.) The Chiefs Office and Training Division are located at this station.
Station Two, located at 7036 Manlius Center Road, East Syracuse, 13057 houses Engines 22, 24 and Rescue 2. Retired Engine 1 is housed here as well.
