Minoa Fire Department Announces 2026–2027 Officers

On Monday, April 6, 2026, the Village of Minoa Mayor and Board of Trustees, during the Village’s annual meeting, officially appointed the officers of the Minoa Fire Department for the upcoming year.

Each officer will serve a one-year term from April 2026 through April 2027.

Officers

The Department is pleased to announce the following appointments:

Chief (C1): Donald D. Grevelding, Jr.

Deputy Chief (C2): Trevor Van Auken

Battalion Chief: Anthony Alessandrello

Station 1

Captain: Zachary Van Auken

Lieutenants: Kyle Stanley and Vinny Carciofolo

Station 2

Captain: Colin Decker

Lieutenants: Hunter Matthes and Jeremy DiBello

This year, the Department has designated a new position: Battalion Chief. This role is intended to strengthen operations, oversight, and coordination across the Department. The responsibilities of the Battalion Chief include incident command, supervision of companies, training and standards, and administrative duties. Administrative responsibilities extend beyond emergency scenes and include scheduling, staffing, documentation, budget input, equipment needs, and station conditions. The position also plays an important role in coordination and communication, as well as overall safety oversight.

Appointments

In addition, Chief Grevelding has made the following appointments: Richard Sabin as Director of Medical Operations (DMO), Austin Maule as Assistant DMO, and Scot Garland as Health & Safety Officer. Deputy Chief Trevor Van Auken will continue to serve as Training Officer.

The Department also extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Lieutenant Ben Hess for his service and commitment over the past year.

With this leadership team in place, the Minoa Fire Department remains well-prepared to meet the needs of the community with professionalism, accountability, and a strong commitment to public safety.
