Minoa Moves to NERIS—and We’re Ready for the Change

The Minoa Fire Department is stepping confidently into the future. Starting this month (November 2025), our emergency reporting moved to NERIS, the new National Emergency Response Information System. This modern, cloud-based platform will help fire departments collect, share, and learn from emergency data more effectively — strengthening how we plan, respond, and keep our community safe.

Behind every emergency response is important information — what happened, how we responded, and what we can improve. By adopting NERIS, Minoa joins departments nationwide in a shared effort to use better data and smarter tools to enhance public safety. For our community, that means stronger preparedness and continued dedication to protecting the people we serve.

Advantages

For a small fire department like Minoa, NERIS brings clear advantages. Because it runs in the cloud, there’s no software to install or maintain, and updates happen automatically. It also works seamlessly on tablets and smartphones; so, reports can be completed right in the field. Our RedAlert system connects directly to NERIS behind the scenes, keeping reporting fast, accurate, and efficient.

Minoa Benefits

This transition represents more than new technology — it’s another step in improving how we serve Minoa. By joining first-responder agencies across the country in this upgrade, the Minoa Fire Department is part of a stronger, more connected fire service — ready to meet the needs of our community with accuracy, efficiency, and pride.
