Todd Durantini

A man with a beard and glasses is seated at a dining table, focusing on something in the background at an event.

On the occasion of his induction into the Minoa Fire Department Honoree Hall of Fame, April 11, 206.

Todd joined this department and did what a lot of good firefighters do—he got involved.

For over 25 years—not just on calls, but behind the scenes—doing the work that often goes unseen and doesn’t always get recognized, but what keeps this department going.

Todd is not exactly the type to sit quietly in the room.

(slight pause)

But that strength in his opinions and his willingness to speak up… is exactly why he’s made the impact he has—and why this department is better because of it.

Because behind Todd’s personality is someone who bleeds green, who gets things done, and who pushes things forward.

And one thing about Todd that deserves to be recognized tonight—

He was one of the guys who helped initiate the standbys between a core group of us.

And Todd… I don’t know if you realized it at the time… but that mattered.

Because here we are, some 10 years later, and that same idea has grown into this group of volunteers staffing a duty shift five nights a week.

That doesn’t happen by accident.

That happens because someone was willing to start something.

And you had a piece in building that.

And that’s something this department, this community, and all of us here tonight are better because of.
